Career Certificate - Commercial Vehicle Driving
Program Description
The Career Certificate in Commercial Vehicle Driving prepares students for licensure and employment into the trucking industry. This 320 clock hour program uses a combination of theoretical, simulation, and hands-on instruction. Each student is strongly encouraged to consult an advisor or counselor prior to course registration.
Program Information
Commercial Vehicle Driving (CDL) is a 320 clock hour program of study that prepares students for their Class A license and employment in the trucking industry.
Classes begin in the B & D terms of the fall, spring, and summer semesters and there are limited spaces available. The CDL program is offered at the Truck Driving facility located in Milton.
Program Admission Requirements
- Students must have a clear 7-year driving history (No DUI, no carless driving, and no more than 6 points on license in 3 years) and provide a Motor Vehicle Report before being accepted into the program.
- Student must provide a Department of Transportation (DOT) approved physical and drug screen before being accepted to the program.
- Student must be at least 18 years old (if under 22 years, they must show proof of employment or intent to hire since you must be 21 years to drive commercial vehicles across state lines).
- Be accepted to the college and have completed the entire admissions process.
- This program is limited access due to equipment and space constraints.
