Career Certificate - Advanced Welding Technology
Program Description
The Career Certificate in Advanced Welding Technology prepares students for entry as a class B level welder. This 750 clock hour program uses a combination of theoretical, simulation, and hands-on instruction. Strong emphasis is placed on safety as well as specific welding techniques and skills in an effort for students to obtain industry certifications. Each student is strongly encouraged to consult an advisor or counselor prior to course registration.
Program Information
Advanced Welding is a 2-semester, 750 clock hour program designed to prepare students for entry as a Class B level Welder. Students applying for this program are expected to have completed the Welding Technology program or have significant experience in the welding field.
The program uses a combination of theoretical, simulation, and hands on instruction.
Students who complete the program will earn their Welder Level 3 & 4 NCCER (National Center for Construction Education & Research) certifications.
Classes begin in the fall semester and there are limited spaces available. The Advanced Welding program is offered at the Pensacola, Milton, and Century campuses.
Program Admission Requirements
- Student must have completed the Welding Technology program or have significant experience in the Welding field.
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- High School Dual Enrollment students are welcome.
- No high school completion or equivalent is required.
- Be accepted to the college and have completed the entire admissions process.
- This program is limited access due to equipment and space constraints.
