Natural Resource Conservation/Pre-Forestry Advising Track

This advising track offers the first two years of a baccalaureate degree program in forestry, wildlife ecology or resource conservation. Working in close cooperation with an academic advisor, Natural Resource Conservation students prepare programs of study, according to their educational career goals, or they follow one of several specialized options. A Natural Resource Conservation Science degree is designed to provide graduates with expertise in the management and conservation of our natural heritage, forests and wildlife to water and soil. In addition an NRC degree provides graduates with a flexible curriculum focused on student’s specific goals and interests. Graduates look forward to careers Ecologist, Fish & Wildlife Specialist, Habitat Restoration Consultant, Forester, Park Ranger, Environmental Educator, Marine Biologist, Conservationist, Wildlife Biologist, Extension Specialist, Land manager Water Management , Protected Areas Manager.

This advising track was developed with agreement from several leading universities in forest studies, including the University of Florida, Auburn University, University of Georgia and Mississippi State University. Two plus two scholarships between Pensacola State College and the University of Florida are also available each year to graduating high school seniors.
