EUH 1001 European History II

This course is a survey of European History from the 17th century to the present. It focuses on the end of the age of aristocracy, the effect of the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, the impact of the Napoleonic wars, and the rise of participatory democracy. It looks at the consequences of the Industrial Revolution, Romanticism, and the rise of nationalism in the 19th century, which culminated in the world conflicts of the 20th century. It addresses ideologies such as liberalism, socialism, feminism, Marxism, fascism, and totalitarianism.
